Let’s face it, throwing a party of any kind can be expensive and Super Bowl parties are no exception! But, with a little planning your Super Bowl party can be a huge hit with out breaking the bank! Let me show you how.

All you really need to have the ultimate Super Bowl party is a few great finger foods, a TV, and a couple festive decorations. This year I decided to challenge myself and throw our annual Super Bowl party for under $60 (including decorations).

Seeing as the Super Bowl is not until February 5th, I did a little test run on a Sunday (my husband and his friends didn’t seem to mind!). Needless to say our game day party was a huge hit! Everyone left full and happy which was my ultimate goal. And, at $54.46, I came in under my budget! You can do the same thing with the steps below:

Step 1: Plan Your Menu

I had to dig into my recipe arsenal to pull this all together! I planned out my menu by picking the most filling and inexpensive dishes I could. Ones that I knew would be real crowd pleasers. My menu included: Meatball Sub Sliders, BBQ and Bacon Meatball Sliders, Twice Baked Potato Skins, and Stuffed Pretzels as the main options and some go to snacks like popcorn, chips and salsa, and regular pretzels and game day cupcakes.

I figured with two versions of meat ball sliders I could split a $4 bag of meatballs from Save-A-Lot and still make everyone happy. As far as dessert goes, a simple boxed cake mix cupcake with some simple green dyed frosting would suffice my party. My little guy loved helping decorate these super simple cupcakes!

To make your own game day cupcakes:

Step 2: Head to Save-A-Lot

After creating my menu, I hit my local Save-A-Lot to make sure I could stay under budget. I actually went to the ATM before hand and took out three $20’s so I could leave my actual debit card in the car. I wanted to make sure I wasn’t tempted to get items not on my list (like usual!).

Stick around until the end to find out how you can win (1 of 2) $25 Save-A-Lot Gift Cards to pick up some of your game day supplies!

Not only does Save-A-Lot (you can find your local Save-A-Lot store here) offer 40% lower prices than national chains but, you can even grab your paper products there as well! AND, you can also snag (at participating stores), a $5 off $35 coupon right in their ad! I didn’t get a chance to use that while shopping for this party but, that will totally help you get more bang for your buck! You could probably make another whole recipe for that (or at least pick up drinks)!

Step 3: Complete Your Game Day Look

Like I said earlier, all you need to complete your Super Bowl party is a few festive (and CHEAP) decorations. I hit a local dollar store near me and picked up some themed table decorations like a football shaped chips and dip bowl, football field table cloth and matching napkins/cutlery.

There is no sense in spending a small fortune on decorations that you are going to use once and probably throw away! If you are crafty, you can even make your own! Check out my Pinterest Board if you need some inspiration.

It’s real simple to win at throwing the ultimate Super Bowl party for under $60. With a little planning and some help from Save-A-Lot, you can crush your Super Bowl party with out crushing your budget!

(I do want to be very transparent and add the products and prices vary by region. I visited my local Save-A-Lot in Troy NY but, you should be able to recreate this whole party for around the same price.)
