Avoid making the same mistakes I made with my first baby registry! Check out these 5 Things Not to Add to Your Baby Registry!

5 Things Not to Add to Your Baby Registry

If you have been following me on Facebook, you know that I announced my pregnancy earlier this year. If not, just to get you up to speed, I am currently less than 10 weeks away from meeting my second son. My husband, son, and I are very excited!

One thing I am not so excited about though, is having to buy EVERYTHING I need again! From bassinet to travel system, you name it and it’s on my list! One good thing about going through this whole process again is that I learned from the mistakes I made the first time! I know just what needs to be on the baby registry down to the T.

Putting a baby registry together can be an overwhelming experience (but also a fun one too)! It’s very easy just to load up your baby registry with every cute thing you see, while missing key items you actually need. That’s why I love the Target Baby Registry! The checkable list helps keep you on track and steer you away from adding things you might not really need. It is my absolute favorite feature! I love how organized it kept me while setting up my baby registry this time around! It guided me seamlessly through key sections of baby gear!

Even cooler, you can set up your Target Baby Registry easily either in store, online, or by downloading the app (on iPhone or Android) right to your phone! The app is so handy to have around, especially late nights when you can’t sleep and randomly think of the perfect thing to add. And, if you find something you like while shopping in-store, you can easily scan it with the app to add it to your baby registry!

If you need some more convincing to start your very own Target Baby Registry, rest assured I have some!

A Few More Perks That Come with Starting a Target Baby Registry

  • Easy returns and exchanges for up to a FULL YEAR after your due date!!
  • A group gifting option! If you have expensive items on your list (like you should), your family can contribute to larger items together!
  • Gift tracking, need I say more! Easily track the gift to the gift giver and thank you list.

A couple commonly overlooked things that should be on your baby registry

When you make your crazy easy baby registry on Target.com, the app, or in-store, you will notice a few things. One thing being the Johnson’s® Bath Discovery Set and Infants’ TYLENOL® are automatically added to your registry.

While they are very easily removed, I implore you to leave them on! These are some of the most commonly overlooked items! When you inevitably have a sick child in the middle of the night, the last thing you want to do is run of Infants’ TYLENOL®! And, you can never have enough baby wash (seriously)!

Johnson’s® Bath Discovery Set and Infants’ TYLENOL® also make for great gifts if you are hitting any baby showers (beside your own). I mean the Jonson’s® Bath Discovery Set is already pre-wrapped for you!

You can shop for these items from the image below.

Being a mom is hard and we all make mistakes. Don’t start yours before you even have the baby! While I know not everyone will agree with my list of things to not add to your baby registry, there is one thing we can all agree on, starting your baby registry on Target is a smart choice! You get an easy to follow checkable list that helps you navigate through every baby gear category, $50 in coupons and samples, and tons of choices on how you want to manage/add to your registry.

5 Things Not to Add to Your Baby Registry

  1. Baby Clothes – As tempting as it is to stick on every adorable outfit you see, baby clothes should NOT be on your registry. I mean, it’s OK to add one or two outfits just to give people an idea of your style, but baby clothes are a gift you’re going to get even if you don’t ask for them.
  2. Baby Shoes – This one is funny for me! The first time around, I insisted to my husband that our newborn son would need baby shoes (why, I don’t know). I bought a few expensive pairs of name brand shoes and put them in the closet. you can guess what happened next… Low and behold, my newborn son never even wore them! Newborns don’t walk and DO NOT need shoes.
  3. A Diaper Garbage – Seriously, these things are totally useless! As much as I want it to be, they are just not as useful as they seem. Not only do they smell horribly, but they are an added expense. You are going to use the special sized trial bags that come with in the box then forget to buy them in the store. When you do finally get around to buying them, you are going to realize that only 5-10 diapers fit in it. That’s not even a whole days’ worth for a newborn…
  4. Wipe Warmer – When your new baby is screaming in the middle of the night, having warm wipes is not going to make much of a difference, trust me. In all seriousness, this is an awesome invention to sit around and collect dust in your nursery. Save your money! And, if you do happen to have a baby that has an aversion to cold wipes, just hold them in your hand for a second and let your own body heat do the work!
  5. A Crib Set – Have you looked at the price of these things?! They are insane! While a crib set looks really cute in your nursery photos, that’s about all it’s good for. As soon as you go to put a baby in it, you have to pull every single thing out but the tightly fitted sheet. From there, it will stay folded up in the closet until your baby is to big to even use it!

If you are expecting or know someone who is, don’t wait and start your Target baby registry today!
