Wearable Everyday Halloween Costume – DOROTHY
Halloween is coming and I couldn't be more excited! Not only does that mean fabulous fall weather is here in Upstate NY, but it also means that I get to get creative with my wardrobe! There is something else you should know about me... I LOVE The Wizard Of Oz! This Halloween costume would be a dream for me, but with a four-year-old who recently became obsessed with Batman, I don't see myself being able to wear this anytime soon. With Halloween only coming once a year, I don't see the point in going out and spending $100+ on something you are only going to wear once! It just doesn't go along with my whole budget lifestyle. That's why I put together this adorable (my real dream) Keep Reading
DIY All Purpose Cleaning Wipes
I love for my home to be clean (or as clean as I can manage to get it) but I hate how expensive cleaning products are! If that sounds like you too, these DIY All Purpose Cleaning Wipes are the perfect solution! I go through a crazy amount of cleaning wipes since I use them in every room of my house. I use them to keep my kitchen and bathroom surfaces clean (more details at www.bathroomcity.co.uk). I use them to wipe down baseboards throughout the house. And during cold and flu season, I wipe down our light switches, doorknobs and phones with them too. The wipes I use cost about $4 for a container. When I realized I could make my own DIY All Purpose Cleaning Wipes for a fraction of Keep Reading
DIY Febreze With Printable Label!
Lets get real, we all love Febreze, but it can be ridiculously expensive (even on sale)! Even with coupons, sometimes its just unreal how much this stuff cost. While standing in the checkout line at my local Target with my regular two bottles in hand, it hit me. Why not make my own. I mean I know this stuff is not made out of gold, so why am I paying an arm and a leg for it. After a little trial and error, I came up with a with a super simple way to make something that is highly comparable to Febreze. Believe it or not my DIY Febreze only has three ingredients too! It's also highly customization to your preference. Even if you don't happen to have the few ingredients on hand, it will Keep Reading
DIY Kool-Aid Lip Balm
All it takes is 15 minutes and two ingredients that you probably already have around the house to make Kool-Aid Lip Balm! This is a fun project that doubles as an even cooler gift! Recently I saw a Facebook view that was showing how to make your own lip balm using crayons. Crayons?! Even though they were using a non-toxic brand, I was still a little taken back by the idea. I tend to lick my lips a lot (something to do with winter), and do not like the idea of some of crayon ending up in my mouth. I know it was aimed more at children, but I am still a little taken back by the idea. I recently made DIY Burt’s Bees Peppermint Lip Balm which wasn't really that big of a hit with my son. DIY Burt’s Bees Peppermint Lip Balm
DIY Burt’s Bee’s Peppermint Lip Balm I’m a huge fan of peppermint lip balm. I used to be an avid Burt’s Bess Original Beeswax Peppermint Lip Balm lover until they were bought out by Chlorox and their formula changed (it now contains canola oil and soybean oil). After that I set out on a mission to create my own natural lip balm. This as a super easy lip balm recipe too follow with very simple directions. These lip balm tubes were perfect for this (this recipe makes about 5 tubes). I also found printable labels are the perfect size for lip balm tubes (try these labels). I recommend these labels The best of about making your own lip balm, it’s good for you and, it costs less than Keep Reading
