Tips for Moms to Stay Ahead of the Busy Fall Season

Fall has finally arrived and I could not be more excited. Fall means we finally get that nice weather we have been dreaming about, the beautiful change of scenery, and all the fun fall activities that keep our families busy. But, fall also signals the busiest time of the year for most of us.

You have such a short period of time to prepare yourself for 3 holidays, school parties, fall clean up, and so much more. It’s like the to-do list is just never ending when the fall finally arrives! This year, join me and stay ahead of the busy fall season with these 5 tips!

Stock the pantry (or freezer) with easy grab and go lunch items!

It can be so easy to get caught up in everyday life that something simple, like lunch, can easily get skipped. That’s a big HUGE mistake. Not only will you suffer for it later when you feel like your starving to death, but those around you that you love will suffer when you start to get HANGRY.

Stock up your pantry or freezer with easy to grab lunch options like Tai Pei single serve entrees. Never grab the boring old PB&J again because that’s all you had time to make! Let Tai Pei entrees take your lunch to the next level!

If you have never had a Tai Pei single serve frozen entree before, let me just say, they taste just like takeout that you can make right in your own microwave in a matter of minutes (thanks to the convenient new packaging). No more paying a fortune and waiting around for the delivery guy, because seriously, who has time for that?!

A little more about Tai Pei

Tai Pei entrees are made with only REAL ingredients and no preservatives, unlike traditional frozen food. They also taste so fresh, you’ll have a hard time believing it was made right in your own microwave. And, you can pick them up in the freezer section at your local grocery store. Use the store locator to find out where Tai Pei is sold closest to you.

There are a ton of different Tai Pei single serve entrees to choose from! My personal favorite is the Fried Rice (veggie or chicken) or the Chicken Chow Mein.

For you thrifty moms (like me), this coupon gives you $1 off any Tai Pei Asian Food Entrée so now is the perfect time to stock up!

Tai Pi can take the boring out of any typical meal routine! All you have to do is grab a fork on the way out the door and you’ll have an instant tasty lunch (or dinner) on the go!

Make heat and serve breakfast items you keep in the freezer

Keep your family feed while still getting them out the door on time. Stock your freezer up with easy to heat and eat breakfast items like breakfast burritos or even frozen pancakes. This will ensure that everyone gets a good meal even if you’re running behind.

This may sound tedious, but you can spend one day making a dozen burritos and be set for the whole week. Sounds like a plan to me!

Keep fall sports gear in the trunk (e.g. chairs, big equipment) so you never forget it.

Never forget another thing! I am notorious for forgetting everything in my household. I don’t know what it is about me but I just can’t seem to get it together. That’s why I started to just keep already in the car! To make sure I am prepared for whatever activity we have coming up, I keep my truck stocked with all the equipment we will need. I have the folding chairs, balls, shoes, and even non-perishable snacks loaded in (very neatly).

This is such a lifesaver when you are always on the run! You will never have to make an out of the way trip back to you house again!

Have everyone in the family with a phone download the same calendar app – one that auto-syncs so everyone is on the same page

This one is essential! When you have a larger family, it can be so hard to make sure everyone is on the same page. One of the easiest ways to do this is have everyone (that is old enough for a phone), download a calendar app that auto-syncs. That way when you add in doctors’ appointments, and they add in sports games and school functions, everyone will be in the know!

If you are like me and forget everything, you can even have your kids add in things like sleepover plans so you are never caught off guard again. This can really be a lifesaver!

Set up alarms for key times each day/week (e.g. time to leave for school, piano lessons, practice, etc.)

Speaking of staying in the know, in addition to your calendar, set alarms on your phone for key times each day. This will ensure you are always leaving at the right time and not late to anymore functions. Be sure to take traffic into account if you live in a city.

One of the reasons I wanted to make sure to include this, is because it has seriously saved me numerous time. It is such a small thing to do and will making getting to events/school/ect. A LOT less stressful.

Bonus tip: Don’t take on more than you can handle and take care of yourself

One of my biggest issues during any busy season is learning to say no. Often, I overwhelm myself with so many tasks because I just feel guilty saying no. It’s important to make sure not to stretch yourself too thin. If you are going non-stop and completely burnt out, nobody is really getting much value from you. Do they really need you at the third bake sale this month, or will they survive without you? Chances are they will be just fine.

Be sure to realize when something is just going to be too much. And, believe me, I do know it’s a lot easier said than done.
